HP OfficeJet 6310 not printing with Ubuntu

I hooked up an HP OfficeJet 6310 printer to my Ubuntu 8.10 desktop but could not find a 6300 series driver. The solution was to use the HP OfficeJet 7110 cups+Gutenprint driver.

dude this one’s easy. you need to have both CUPS and HPLIP installed. just open a shell terminal in ubuntu, and use the command:

    sudo apt-get install cups hplip

when its done, just point the hplip driver to the IP address of the 6300 and itll work just fine.
